Can anyone suggest several backilne pass sequences to get the ball effectively to the centre third. This is for 10 year olds.
Coaching solutions has a good diagram
Generally, the C drops back to the goal line of the centre circle and will only run into recieve the pass from the GK if the GD and WD can't get free from their opponents.
The WD goes to the side of the circle that the GK is taking the throw in from (if GK is taking the throw in from the right side of the post, the WD takes up her position at the right side of the circle) If the GK chooses to pass the ball to the WD, the GD can sprint for the next pass. Vice versa, if the GK chooses to pass the ball to the GD, the WD can sprint for the next pass.
Also, the WD and the GD can start off on separate sides and then sprint to the opposite side (swap over) this works but only when the WD or GD are fast sprinters and can lose their opponents. The GK passes in front of the WD or GD for them to catch on the move.
Hope this makes sense!
in more ways than one
