Netball: McD's- Midcourt driving options into shooter.

Set up: Shooting circle, 4-7 players, 1 ball, cones.

• Divide three channels across the court (you can refer to these as channel 1, 2 or 3 or first, second, economy class).
• Use cones to determine channels for players that are learning the areas.
• One channel in front of center transverse line (center pass area).
• Another channel between transverse line and top of circle.
• Final channel is from top of the circle to baseline (shooting area).
• Center feeder to pass ball to first attacker who will drive from WA position to middle of the first channel.
• Attacker to turn and pass to second receiver who will drive circle edge and pass the ball into the shooter.
• Shooter to shoot.

Delivering the ball midcourt through to the circle edge/shooters

Set up: 

Half court, two balls, 5+ players

1 player standing on base line, another player with the ball standing around the third line. 

Description:

Note: The video shows the drill being played out with 2 groups of players, you could just focus on one group i.e. 1 line, 1 V driver. The description is based on one group. 

Player on base line near shooting post, V drives towards court edge and receives a pass from the player in the line with the ball. 

Player who passes the ball drives directly to the circle edge in a straight line and receives a pass from the player who has driven out on the V. 

Player who had initially drove out now drives into a position under the hoop to receive a pass from their player and put a shot up.

Set up: Half court, 3 stationary feeders, 3 balls, 1 attacker, 1-3 defence.

• Feeders are placed in an extended triangle formation. Each feeder has a ball.
• Attacker drives out from transverse line to first feeder where a pass is received, attacker returns pass and moves around the feeder.
• Attacker does so with the other two feeders in the extended triangle formation creating a 'zig zag'.
• Attacker works her way through the 'zig zag' in both directions without errors.

Set up:

• No set amount of people needed.
• Working in partners. 
• 2 groups opposite each other.

• Two players drive out on and angle.
• One player receives a pass from the same line they have left.
• Receiver to pass back to partner who has driven out also.
• First receiver drives long and diagonal across court to receive a long pass from their partner then delivers it back to the line.

*Introduce trigger once players have mastered the above movement.

• Trigger – called by a nominated player to change the space.
• Same drill as above but to the opposite side of the court.
• When 'trigger' is called players aim to adapt to the other side of the court as quickly as possible.
• 'Trigger' player to initiate play and be passing/receiver option.
