Community | Warm Up - Stick Jumps

DESCRIPTION

Ask all participants to find and space in the D and place their sticks on the floor. All players will be asked to run around in the D. At different intervals the coach will shout out a different number, each number will be expalined to the young people and will mean the following action needs to be undertaken on the nearest stick to them: 1. Players stand with bthier feet parallel to the stick and sideward jump over the stick 10 times. 2. Players stand with toes towards the stick and jump over it forwards and backwards 10 times. 3. Players stand with their feet either side of the stick and run on the spot lifting thier knees as high as possible for 20 steps. This activity to designed to raise the players heart rates and prepare thier bodies for playing sport. Make sure all are taking part and are aware of what to do for each number. Give both a verbal and visual demonstrations of each activity and remind the players after each number is called.
