When faced with a press the team with possession will most likely attempt to transfer the ball round the back. This drill is designed both for practicing the transfer, and moving the press across the field. Aim for the defenders is to get the ball to the half-way line. Attackers are aiming to score. Reverse running paths for right-to-left press movement.
Movement of the press should be quick to block the space cfreated by the transfer. Wingers (outside players of the front 3 in the press) need to run the fastest to cut out the ball up the line. Transfer should be quick to get past the moving press.
