Focus- Passing and catching Duration- 10min Equipment- Cones and balls Description Use a half court sized space.( Oh Oh the floor is made of lava) Scatter cones randomly throughout, spaced 2m apart(these represent islands) Students must be split into pair's, each pair has there own ball. On the coaches whistle, pair's take turns passing to their partner and catching the ball. After passing the ball, a player needs to go find a open cone(island) and wait for there turn to catch/receive the pass. Pair's repeat the pattern, keeping track of how many passes they can make before time is up. No dribbling allowed, the floor is hot and the ball will melt.
Be animated and engaged with the kids. make it fun for them Remember to teach passing form. From the chest using both hands to push the ball towards the target. Step into your pass and follow through with the arms. Keep eyes on the ball when catching. Encourage students to not stand too far away from their partner for form purposes.
