1) Explain coaching points and visually demonstrate the block tackle (use a student to statically show this).
- Head up on approach.
- Basic grip (left hand should be at the top of the stick and their right hand should be lower down the stick further towards the head of the stick).
- The player should adopt a sideways position with their left foot in front of their right foot.
- The player holds their stick so that it is at right angles to the line the ball is travelling in.
- The player should use the whole of the stick to block the attacking player’s path and win the ball.
