Jump Stop Shooting:
SET-UP: - Place 6 pancakes around the court (look at the orange cones in the diagram)
Before explaining the drill make sure kids are sitting down watching you.
Begin the drill: (demonstrate it first)
- Place 6 pancakes around the court (look at the orange cones in the diagram)
- 3 players stand behind each mat with 1 basketball in the front of the line. When the whistle goes, the first 3 in front of each line dribble to the pancake in front of them, stop (important for them to gather themselves) then shoot the basketball straight away. They then get their ball and give it to the next person in line to have their turn.
The drill should run itself with children going automatically, not waiting for the coaches to say go.
- Rotate spots every 2 minutes.
- Stay under the ring to help assist in rebounding the ball
