Players standing position can be marked out by spots and/or numbered cones (Numbers 1-5, ideally). It is a simple passing game completed as written on the diagram.
This can be timed to see how fast they can complete a single set of 5 passes, or see how many they can do in 90 seconds. Start slow to make sure the players understand where they are passing to.
Show correct technique for passing. Thumbs down, fingers pointing at the target, step into the pass.
Show correct technique for catching. Make a target. How big is the ball? How far apart should our hands be?
Complete it using chest pass, bounce pass, and lob pass. Even using rolling if kids are small (can't pass well).
Call for the ball! Make a rule where they can't pass they ball until their teammate has called for it. They can say anything they've heard in basketball e,g, "I'm open!", "Pass!", "Ball!", "Gimme the rock!" or the name of the player passing them the ball.
