Netball Drill Demonstration

Description

Starting position

  • 2 feet in ready position to jump
  • ball in palm of right hand held high and to the right

  • Movement
  • jump upwards and push/flick the ball to the wall
  • land and bend knees
  • jump again in time for the ball to return to the right hand
  • whilst in the air, push/Flick ball back again

  • Pre work
    Start nearer the wall and ask players to jump up and touch the same spot on the wall using their right hand. This will aid players elevation and rhythmn

    Coaching points

  • Keep your eye on the ball
  • follow through the ball
  • as players become more confident and have more power, increase the distance away from the wall
  • only do 10 at a time to ensure better quality of practice
