Defence is the first form of attack so make sure that your players are more than capable of defending to a high standard with this session!

Description

This drill works best with the full squad (10+ players).

One feeder stands at the side of each third of the court (white in the diagram). These players are on the same side as the attacker (red 1 in the diagram).

There are 2 defenders in each third (blue in the diagram).

Using just half the width of the court, Red 1 has to work their way down the court receiving three passes from the player at the side of the court, in each third.

Coaching points

  • The attacker must keep moving to ask for the ball.
  • The defence must talk to each other and work as a unit.
  • High work rate is required by the attacker
  • Feeders can use dummy passes to trick the defence.
