Netball: MAD- Make A Decision.

Groups of 4, in an area the length of a third and just under half way across court. In this area have 3 attackers, 1 defender. Starting at one end of the third the attackers move to the other end with their passes. Defender attempts to stop this. If the ball is intercepted it is reset to the end that play started on. When attackers make it to the opposite end = 1 point When the attackers get to 4 points swap the defender.  If the defenders are really struggling then the width can be made smaller.

Players have to name their pass before they receive the ball nad throw the ball to that person. This is an exercise to speed-up the passing and decision makingprocess.

Player C delivers ball to a player (D) who has driven from baseline corner to the edge of the circle. At the same time player D drove out, another player (E) from the same line drives into the circle.  Player D delivers ball to player E in the circle. Players D and E act as WA/C and GS/GA feeding in and out of circle. Player E may choose to put up a shot.  Player E delivers ball back to starting point A.

White player 1 initiates a move towards either ball (on cone). Red player 1 responds and tries to get the ball before white 1 . But whoever gets to the ball first throws to their team mate. Defender must decide whether to go for the ball and defend the throw if unsuccessful or drop back and mark the receiver.

*AUDIO DESCRIPTION ON* 1 Player starts at about half way facing the shooting circle, with the ball(could be a centre pass situation). Player with the ball passes to one of the two players who are set up on the 3rd line (as if a centre pass).   Player who does not receive the ball, drives as if going for the straight pass as a decoy, player with the ball can fake the straight pass but actually pass to the original feeder who is now square.  The decoy player then cuts back and receives a ball on the circle edge.  

A game using the full court, 4 attackers, 4 defenders, 2 trailers. Split the court in half, 2 attackers, 2 defenders in each half. Both trailers in one half with attacking players "1". Attackers are aiming to move the ball from one end of court to halfway (and then on to the other end of court) 10 reps, keeping score (this can be reduced if you have a bigger squad).  Rules: Defenders are fixed to their attackers up to halfway 2 original trailers are fixed to their half A1s can go anywhere. As they cross the halfway line they become trailers for the other attackers. (You can separate the court and just have the halfway aim for each side if players at one end are not getting the opportunity to be as active)

Equipment: Dependant on numbers, one ball between 2, full court area. Players are in 2 lines down the length of the court.  One line of players has the ball. The other line stands inbetween these players facing them (i.e. not directly opposite).  Coach wil call either number; one, two or three. Followed by either left or right. The number determines the movement. Left or right determines the way the workers drive.  If workers drive left they should lead with their left hand to the ball and if they drive right, the right hand should touch the ball.  One: Workers drive to either left or right. Tap ball. Drive back on an angle to recieve a long pass. Two: Workers drive and tap either left or right hand. Drive back the same angle with a side switch half way back. Three: Same as two but once workers reach their start point they drive forward and recieve a flat pass from the post.

Attackers are aiming to move the ball from the end of court with the Trailing player to halfway (and then on to the other end of court) 10 reps, keeping score (this can be reduced if you have a bigger squad). Rules: Defenders are fixed to their attackers up to halfway Original trailer fixed to their half Attackers from the trailer's half can go anywhere. As they cross the halfway line they become trailers for the other attackers.  The Centre is undefended.
