Hockey: Far post Scoring

Excellent, used the drills at our first training session today with...
Shane, Hockey Coach

DESCRIPTION

Players start with a ball on the back line they run with the ball to get the Goalkeeper to commit  and then pass the ball across to the far post for the player to score the goal.

COACHING POINTS

  • Always important that the player on the far post lines their shoulder up to the goal and not to the back line. Where ever the shoulders are lined up the ball tends to finish up.
  • Also the players should sweep the ball in not lift the stick and hit.
