Each team begins with four players and their own area. One team has possession of the ball to begin i.e. the reds. The other team i.e. the yellows, is permitted to send one player into the red zone in order to intercept or tackle to win back possession. If successful they may carry or pass the ball back to their zone. If ten passes have been made in succession without the player in the middle winning back possession, another player from their side may join.
