Note: Depending on time & your groups hockey experience with passing you can move directly to Egg Collection Game as a dribbling game or straight to it as a passing game. Passing in Pairs: (using two cones between them to create target)Passing technique: Facing sideways, left shoulder in line with partner. Hands spread apart, knees bent. Place ball away from body at back foot and push ball forward while transferring weight from back foot to front foot. Stick ends pointing in direction of pass. Power in pass comes from legs. Egg Collection Game:Split group into two Hawks teams (keep passing partners on same team). Each team has black and red Hawks on their team. Egg Collection Dribbling Game:Balls are spread out in the middle of the field (make sure there is lots of space between eggs so players are distanced when collecting them). When the coach calls out "red or black" those players from each team run to collect an egg from the middle and bring it back to their nest. When partner is back next player goes. Race to see who can get all their eggs back first.Extension: Add cones in the free space that players need to dribble through/around on way back to their side. Egg Collection Passing Game:Balls are spread out in the middle of the field (make sure there is lots of space between eggs so players are distanced). Coach calls colour that is going to run to the middle and pass the ball back to their partner on their team. Once pass is made passer runs back and receiver runs to do the same. Teams finished when both players are back in their nest with all their teams balls.
