3 or 4-a-side game(s). Each team tries to carry over the opposing teamâs backline. Rugby rules, i.e. you cannot pass forwards, only sideways or backwards. Variations/progressions: If players are running into tackles, rather than space: turnover when a defender touches the ball. If the game is spoilt by too many tackles and lack of flow, then the defending team must all retreat behind the ball and only the front player goes to tackle. Feedback: Attack space, not defenders. Only eliminate when you have no choice. How should your team set up to win this game? (i.e. in possession: should you be in front of or behind the ball-carrier?)
The aim of this game is to practice carrying the ball. Attacking team: If your team has the ball, you should all be behind the ball-carrier, to receive a pass. Keep moving off the ball, to provide a passing option for the ball-carrier. Ball-carrier: Attack the space, don't run into a challenge.
