Needed? Balls, 3 different color cones, goal, 6+ players, pinnies, goal How? All attackers start at (red) cone in the middle of the midline. There is a coach/player at each of the marked "C" spots, with a pile of balls. Black cones divide the field into 3 grids. There are 5 parts to the drill: Coach passes to the defender in grid 1 who tries to clear the ball through the blue gate at the 50. The 1st attacker in line, whenever the coach passes the ball, starts sprinting towards the blue gate to try and intercept the ball. Once intercepted the attacker takes the ball and goes 1v1 to goal, staying inside grid 1! Once done, they stay in the 25yd area for the 2v2. Coach passes the ball to the defender in grid 2, who receives and tries to pass it through either of the two gates at the 50. The attacker, like in grid 1, will try to intercept. After interception the attacker will take on the defender 1v1, however the extra player is available in the 25yd area for a 2v2. When done, ALL 4 players stay in for 3v3. Coach passes the ball to defender in grid 3, who tries to clear through the gate at the 50yd line, attacker tries to intercept. Once intercepted the attacker goes with the other two attackers up front for a 3v3. When done ALL players (6) stay on. Coach on the side line at the 25yd line, hits a ball in towards the circle, initiating another 3v3 situation. Same as 4, after the ball is done. After this ball all players are done! Why? Focus on 1v1 skills, as well as movement and shaking off defender. On the defending side focus on ball side-goal side and footwork on the 1v1 defense.
