Introduce the front row bind and crouch position

  1. Hooker first with arms up
  2. Then the props bind on the hips of the hooker
  3. the props steps in underneath the arms of the Hookerand locks shoulders
  4. Hooker binds on the Jersey of Props underneath armpits around ribcage
  5. Finally when the bind is stable and tight, they crouch with props arms stretched forward for balance and ready to bind on opponents

Rotate the positions so everyone gets a chance to be in each position. 

Coaching points

Although it will be uncontested scrums it is important to learn the correct binds from day one

Ensure the binds are firm and shoulders are correctly aligned

Not everyone is comfortable binding with left (or Right) arm so different positions need to be explored
