One person will be allocated to be 'it' first. (Preferably a coach to avoid conflict or exclusion) And they will attempt to tag as many players as possible before they run to the opposite side. If a player that is running to the other side is tagged by the person 'it', they also become 'it' and have to help tag the remainder of players.
