Taking the Support

Great site and excellent drills. Easy to understand and apply in training....
Tyrone, Rugby Coach

DESCRIPTION

4 Tackle Bags

4 Defenders

1 Support Attacker

The suuport attacker decides in between which bags he want to come into the line.

As the Support runner starts the defenders stand up and decide which bags to take. The end bag should always be left standing to prove the support player has been taken.

COACHING POINTS

  • Ball is always coming from one direction but you can switch sides once they are use to the drill
  • Support Player - No side steps or dummies just straight into a gap
  • Communication is KEY!
  • Apart from the last bag, the rest should be tackled and the support player taken out to be successful.
