pass wide drill

Your tips and session ideas have really brought some interest back...
Eifion, Rugby Coach

DESCRIPTION

To develop long range and more accurate passing, the depth of the bags can be as deep or shallow as like. the distance at which players can also be set off. When running as a war up drill, keep the depth shallow and look for speed and accuracy so you could start with 1m depth of tackle bags, and jogging.

COACHING POINTS

Pass across your body, elbows high, after release point to the target. Reciever take early so taking outside your shoulder from direction the ball has come, if ball coming from left, its outside your left shoulder, push your right hand a little further forward from your left, spin passes are easier to catch and your hands will catch the ball more aligned to take and give in one motion, rather than a wholesale adjust on hte ball ot pass.
