Excellent, used the drills at our first training session today with...
Shane, Hockey Coach

DESCRIPTION

Warming up 1

  • couples, 1 ball
  • no 1 + no 2 about 3 m away from each other
  • no 1 plays ball softly, no 2 stops with block tackle posture and leave ball there
  • No 2 runs backwards, no 1 runs to ball and plays again on no 2 etc.
  • On other end change roles, then no 2 plays and no 1 stops with block tackle

Warming up 2

  • same couples, 1 ball
  • again 3 m away.
  • No 1 plays on reverse of No 2. He traps ball with low reverse stick and plays ball back to no 1 who ran a bit forward.
  • No 2 runs backwards and gets ball on reverse again etc.
  • other end = change roles

COACHING POINTS

Important:

* stick flat on ground, thus left hand on ground.

* with 1 handed reverse block tackle stick diagonal forward in front of your left foot, so ball rolls to your forehand + you are strong that way. .
