Counters with less haste.

Great site. An absolute must for coaches who are willing to change...

DESCRIPTION

Using the smart goals an attacked (blue) will lead through the gate receive the ball and have to run through the next gate and start a 3v2, the defender has to complete the same action without a ball reacting to the light gates. If the defender is quick enough they will be there in order to tackle back and stop the overload from scoring.

In a counter the team should focus on:

  • Create width and depth with the two supporting players. (not just blindly running to the goal).
  • Stay out of reach of the goalkeeper and keep back to the goalie, while in the circle, with low body position.
  • Try not to waste chances but hitting when a push is enough.
