This drill is going to look at the players moving the ball laterally across the pitch, getting the first touch right and moving the ball with pace. Split the players into threes and set up the drill across the pitch as shwn in the diagram. The ball shoud be passed in to the player in the middle, recieve the ball strong, move it across out body and get the pass off to the other player quickly.
We are looking for the following aspects:
Stong balls in from the wide players. Good push passes to the strong stick.
Players should look to move towards the ball to recieve it. looking to recieve the ball inside the right leg to give additional strength to the recieve.
Rather than looking to rollout as we would with a player marking us we are going to move the ball across our body to get the pass off quickly.
Passes must be string and accurate and the first touch is key to ensure that the ball is in the right place to make the pass.
