The aim of the session is to develop good catch and pass habits.
Your players need to be able to catch the ball early and out in front of them, quickly transfer the ball across their body, and follow through towards the support player to find their target. Far too often lazy technique can let players down when it comes to passing, leading to dropped balls and missed attacking opportunities. This session irons out bad habits to get players running straight and square and developing positive passing habits.
What's in the Session?
We start with an excellent handling primer and warm up game. Once everyone?s warmed up and ready to go we focus on developing passing technique, focusing on passing repetition to get a good feel for the skill.
We put a clear focus on being able to catch and pass whilst running square and straight. Players often make the mistake of drifting, cutting out the space out wide and breaking up try scoring opportunities. Staying square allows players to fix their opposite player and make the most of the overlap.
