Confidence in front of goal is one of the hardest things a coach has to instil in their players. Having excellent possession and keen passing are qualities that any confident team should have, however without being able to convert that possession into goals means that your team can't convert it into points either.
To ensure your players avoid squandering precious possession this Session looks at creating and converting goal scoring opportunities.
"Easier said than done!" I can hear you saying. Breaking through the opposition's final third can often be the hardest hurdle to pass, however the age old adage is true, practice makes perfect and with this session you can ensure your players face down their defenders with composure and conviction.
To do this we've made the practices in this session as live as possible - creating pressured situations to replicate the game situation. Working within the 22m area your players will start playing in an overload situation, where there are more attacking players than defenders, before working their way towards a level playing field. This will require good passing and movement in order to break through the defence and get their shot off on goal.
Give your whole team a good work out with this goal scoring opportunities session, from your keeper to your front men.
