Teams of 4 stay together throughout the session, rotate activities every [15] mins. 1) Defend the square Defenders protect the square. Attackers must pass through it. No defenders allowed in the square. If defenders take the ball to the edge, they become attackers. Variations: Attackers must pass into the square (i.e. to a team-mate in the square) 2) Cross and score Team A attack, Team B defend. Team A get 1 pt for scoring in the goal, or 5 pts for scoring from a cross (i.e. after passing from behind a red cone). If Team B can carry or pass over Team A's backline, they become the attackers. Variations: you can only score from a cross turn&burn, i.e. when defenders reach the other team's backline they attack immediately 3) Capture the flag Two teams, 4 gates. Aim is to capture each gate by passing ball through it. Coach indicates which team has captured a gate by placing a corresponding bib over one of the cones. Variations: shoot or carry through a gate to capture it. 4) Normal game with diamond-shaped pitch: mini goals turned backwards and placed in corners. Variations: turn the goals the right way round
