Diese Ãbersicht soll schematisch die Standardabläufe beim Ãbergang vom Schnellangriff zum Set Play darstellen. Das Spielfeld ist hierzu mit Hilfslinien (grau) in 3 x 3 Bereiche eingeteilt. Die grauen Flächen sollen die wahrscheinlichsten Laufwege der gegnerischen Verteidiger visualisieren.
Ein Schnellangriff hat nicht geklappt oder war zu riskant, weil die Verteidigung wachsam war. Die Early Offense soll helfen, während des Umschaltens auf einen geordneten Angriff (motion oder set play) möglichst viele Möglichkeiten zu schaffen, um den Korb zu attackieren. In dieser Variante ist zum Schluss der Aufbau wieder auf seiner Position.
