There are different types of free hits that can be demonstrated, 16m (top of the D), side line or after a foul. This will look at the 16m hit out.
1) Defenders will have the ball at the top of the D (16M), they will be able to pass in either 1 of the 3 options as described in the picture. The other option would be to hit it further up the pitch (later in hockey development).
2) Attackers must try to intercept the ball and then subsequently shoot at the goal.
