Rectangular play area (bigger than in sketch!) with corner goals. Starts as a 2v2. Players in side boxes can be used for passes but cannot leave the box.
CHANGE-IT:
1. Move both box players from one team to left (and oppo to right)
2. If a successful 1-2 pass is completed with the "boxed" player they can enter the field of play, but their opposition defender stays in the box.
Game relies on the players identifying different levels of danger and different opportunities for pressing.
- when the ball is played to the player in the box there may be an opportunity to press the box to stop them exiting.
- danger of allowing more opposition to enter the field of play requires the players to identify an area of danger other than their two goals.
- within the boxes - think about front marking and leading runs to create space.
