Drill:
- starting at the first red cone player 1 runs forward towards the 2nd red cone and continues running to the 3rd cone
-once player 1 has reach the 2nd red cone player 2 passes the ball to be intercepted by player 1 in between the 2nd cone and the 3rd cone.
- player 1 continues with the ball to the 3rd cone and take the ball to shoot in the goal (can include goal keeper)
- player 2 becomes player 1, a new player become player 2 and the drill is repeated
Difficulty
The difficulty can be Changed by increasing the distance between cones, increasing the speed of the drill and removing the cones all together to better the integration of recieving the ball on the move.
Ensuring players pick up the ball on the strong side is key and that momentum is maintained and the player doesn’t slow down too much when receiving the ball.
Although you should let the player get the hang of the drill first as you progress with the exercise make sure the player is picking up the ball without turning around to face the direction he ball has come from and instead faces forwards when receiving the ball.
