3v3 within this area. One team starts with the ball on the 23m (like a long corner or free hit). The attack must try to score a goal.
Once a goal is scored or the ball crosses the baseline the defence take a free hit from the baseline. They must get the ball back to the 23m to the next group waiting. Once this is done the defence step off and the attack become the new defence. A new team attacks.
Play continues until the attack score or the defence get the ball to the waiting team.
The exercise is designed to focus on speed of the attack when high up the pitch (in the final 23m). The slower the attack the harder it will be for them to score. It may also encourage attack to move the ball to score as their is a small amount of space therefore skills may not work.
Defensively, players will be encouraged to perform defensive skills on the move to get the ball to the awaiting team.
