Hockey Drill Demonstration


- in 3's = passer, receiver, defender

- passer pushes ball to receiver, who has run forward to receive the pass on their reverse stick either 1 or 2 handed

- as receiver makes run, defender runs in to apply pressure

- receiver control ball & moves to strong side 

- then 1v1 to goal

Alternative: receiving more upright

Coaching points

- sideways (right foot as back foot)

- move on balls of feet enables a quick change of direction

- stick angled to cushion ball upon impact

- move ball to open stick side asap to increase control
