DESCRIPTION

To improve the attackers use of footwork and ability to confuse defense. To improve the defenders tackle against different people and ability to read how an attaacking player. Also building up their confidence.

COACHING POINTS

1. Set up a 20m x 20m area with a 5m x5m area set up in the middle. (Make grid bigger or smaller to adapt to the ammount of players) 2. Have same ammount of attackers and defenders. The attackers with a ball stand in the 5m x 5m grid and defenders standing in the 20m x 20m grid. 3. When coach calls attackers try and score a try over one of the blue try lines. 4. Defenders try and stop attackers from getting there. 5. When a defender makes a tackle the attacker as to go back to smaller grid and start again. 6. If the attacker scores a try they go back to smaller grid and try and score over a different line. 7. Get attackers to keep track of how many trys and defenders tackles. DEVELOPMENT - Change the number of attackers or defenders to adapt for what you want to develop. -Change size of grid to big or smaller.
