1) “W” drill - stick, ball 6 cones, stop watch:
- Move ball and feet through cones, using reverse stick when needed. FOCUS: control ball when moving, Avg time: 6.5 sec
2) Shooting- stick, 6 balls, cage, stop watch
- Start at base line, run up, shoot, back to base line
FOCUS: footwork, Avg Time: 24 sec
3) Lifting/Jinks - stick, balls, 10 cones, stop watch
- set of cones to lift over (5 walls),10 ft apart
FOCUS: test ability to lift ball over cones w/ speed, Avg time:20 sec
4) Combine all 3 Drills: stick, ball, 12 cones, goal, stop watch
- dribble through 4 tight cones, then 3 wide cones -> lift ball 2 times over 2 sets of cones -> sprint to cone to get shot off! Avg Time: 17 seconds
*ULTIMATE GOAL* => Execute basic skills at high tempo = quicker you can do that, better field hockey player you’ll be!
