Exercise 1 - Lift passing:
Here the players will give a lift pass and then run after their ball, it is very important that the lift pass is completed without slowing down the ball first, for those who are having trouble with this, they should try lifting the ball with the ball outside of their body (backhand)
Exercise 2 - The "Fake pass":
This exercise will teach the players the fake pass (fake sweep).
1. The player should have a sweeping grip and connect with the ball in the middle of their stick.
2. They should not rotate their wrists at all and instead turn to the left and let the ball roll off the stick, there should be almost no sound from the contact with the ball.
3. If the ball is rolling off the stick but not going to the right, this is usually because the player has the ball too far in front of them, it should be closer to their feet when compared to a normal sweep pass (this is what gives it the fake element).
Exercise 3 - Under the shoulder pass:
Here the children will drive to the white cones then pass the ball under their shoulder, this is a simple exercise but can be used to eliminate a defender, if the players are able to do it with ease then get them to do a "no look pass". (With the pass it is important that they pass with a dragging motion as this makes the ball go straight).
