GOAL:
teaching the long hit
* 4 players with 1 ball each on 1 side line. The other 4 on other side.
* practicing the long hit against the boarding. If they hit the ball the right way, the ball will come back the same way..
* if hitting goes well, they can go a bit further away from boarding
END GAME !!! Please play this
* all 4 on one side play against each other. On your command they hit. Which ball hits the boarding first? (nb this is pressure... you will see they will miss the ball. Trick is tip 2, focus on right hitting instead of wanting to do it hard)
tip 1
NB for hit you power sources are arms, core rotation and legs. Thus important they learn to have ball far away to stretch to ball and swing stick half circle around them (baseball idea instead of golf)
Tip 2: if you want to hit the ball hard, you don't need to use power. it's important to focus on hitting the ball with the right technique
Focus
- 2 hands together, V grip
- left foot same level with the ball. The right foot should be behind the line of the left foot to aid with balance and rotation= Feet in start sprint position with ball at left foot.
Feet ball position: the distance the ball is away from the player may vary due to height of player. But general rule is 1 stick length way
Knees are bent, back is straight.
- The player should commence their backswing by taking the stick around their body with the hands staying level with the hips. Stick makes half a circle around their body (not a golf swing)
• Follow through see the stick follow around the players body.
