Great site. An absolute must for coaches who are willing to change...

DESCRIPTION

Set up in one half of a small pitch

Arrange a number of areas within the D and two small goals at the half way line

Game is played between two small sided teams

Attackers gain points for being in possession of the ball inside one of the marked areas within the D

Defenders gain points for clearing the ball into one of the goals on the half way line

COACHING POINTS

Looking for attackers to gain possession in a good shooting position

Defenders should be trying to force attackers away from the goal

Vary size, number and position of scoring areas and allocate different numbers of points depending on the location, angle, distance from goal etc.

Additional points awarded for goals scored from the areas marked

Consider adding GK

Defenders should concentrate on forcing attackers wide and cutting out the pass rather than blocking the shot.  Also turning defence into attack and moving the ball up the wing as far as half way.
