Create two equally sized teams. The coach assigns each player in the team a number and asks the players to line up on a cone each, where the numbers are diagonally mirrored on each side.
The ball is placed in the middle of the pitch. When the coach calls a number, the relevant player from each team has to run around the blue cone take the ball and attempt to score.
Indicated to the kids that whoever gets to the ball first will be the attacker and the other the defender, until he/she can capture the ball and the roles reverse.
