3v3 (can alter depending on numbers). Half the players in orange.
Defenders (blue) start 5m behind attackers (red). Right attacker plays a pass to the pivot attacker and game begins.
All must stay inside the yellow central area (or D) when game starts.
If defenders win the ball they counter to the halfway goal (inside yellow).
Players queue at cones for next wave. Reset if ball leaves the area.
Attackers
Usually focus on attacking wide, but if we have the opportunity to break away through the centre - how do we maximise the opportunity?
- move the ball forward, fast, first.
- how do we get a shot away within 1 or two passes?
- how does movement off the ball create the space for others. DYNAMIC MOVEMENT - don't ALL run in straight lines
- Is there an opportunity for pivot player to carry the ball to the D?
Defenders
- Transition phase 1 - "Scramble". What is the iminent threat? How to we delay it from happening then get back into shape?
- Phase 2 - "Deny". Once organised, how to we stop chances on goal.
Overturn posession - Transition Phase 1 - "Keep". Cosolidate posession to work through the central channel without losing the ball
KEY - when we transition from possession to losing possession - we need high intensity 'scramble'. When we transition from defense to attack we need to be calm & measured. Buy time to get head up to make good decisions.
