I qualified a number of years ago as an intermediate?

I qualified a number of years ago as an intermediate coach with the rfu, can anyone tell me what that equates to level wise with the irb qualifications? I have continuously played and coached at all levels since gaining my original qualification. Thank you

The RFU intermediate award has changed a bit since you took it and now the coaching awards are:

  • RFU Level 1
  • RFU Level 2
  • RFU Level 3
  • RFU Level 4

As in any progressive organisation these coaching awards are being constantly reviewed and developed to ensure they meet the requirements of the modern game. For instance, the Level 1 award is being developed to become more focused on coaching children.

The IRB has a similar coaching development set up with Levels 1 - 3 for coaching awards, 7 a side coaching and refereeing etc.

Have a look at both the RFU and IRB websites and in the Coaching and Education areas you will find out more about the awards and where they fit.

Simon
