
DRILL TYPE: Racquet Skills FOCUS: Groundstrokes Progressions TYPE: Partner Drills SETUP: Pair up students, with a racquet and one ball. Partners stand 8 to 10 feet apart. One student ( the feeder) has a ball; the other student ( the lobster) has a racquet in one hand. MISSION: The feeder tosses the ball to the forehand side ( palm forward), and the lobster catches the ball against the racket strings with the free hand after one bounce. The lobstir gently rolls the ball back to the feeder. PROGRESSION: After getting some practice, have the lobster gently hit the ball back to the feeder.
