Center shot when running - Switch Pass

Two lines of players (one on each side) and a feeder/coach standing in the middle. The player on the left passes the ball to the coach/feeder in the midde. As soon as the pass has been made a player from the right should start running straight towards goal. The feeder turns and passes the ball into the path of the running player from the right. This player then shoots on goal. The drill repeats from the other side.

Players from both lines run forwards at the same time, with the ball carrier crossing over in front of the other player. When the players cross over they should switch the ball between them. At this point the player in possession should try and get around the defender to get a clear shot off on goal.

When the players cross over they should switch the ball between them as at this point they are blocking the goal keeper's view. Once the other player has the ball they should shoot on goal before then collecting their ball and joining the back of the queue.

Meet the Pass and Shoot - With pressure

Player one carries the ball towards the defender in order to create space for the players to their left and right. Once they have engaged the defender they should offload the ball to their left, in front of player 2. Player 2 so must move forwards to meet the pass. Once they have the ball under control they should switch the ball cross-court to player 3, making sure their pass is out of the defender's reach. Player 3 runs onto this pass and then shoots on goal.

Player 1 is acting as the feeder as all other players line up to their left and right. Player one carries the ball towards the defender in order to create space for the players to their left and right. Once they have engaged the defender they should offload the ball to their left, in front of player 2. Player 2 so must move forwards to meet the pass. Once they have the ball under control they should switch the ball cross-court to player 3, making sure their pass is out of the defender's reach. Player 3 runs onto this pass and must then engage the second defender before offloading a quick pass to player 4 who then runs on to shoot on goal.

Quick Switch - Simple Screen

Three groups of players - a group on each wing and a line of three players a couple of meters behind the free-throw line. The play starts from the right wing with player 1 passing the first of the outfield players (player 2). Player 2 moves forward to meet the pass and then plays the ball to their left for player 3 to meet and then across to player 4. During this passing process player 1 must chase the passes across the court - screening to protect the pass and prevent the imaginary defender from receivnig the ball. When player 4 receives the ball they should shoot on goal. The drill then starts from the other side - going from left to right.

Simple cross over - Switch ball

Players line up in two lines on opposite sides of the pitch, in line with the 7 metre line. The first players in both lines set off at the same time as one another. When they cross over in the middle the player with the ball passes, using the hand that is closest to their team mate, to the player who they are running past who then dribbles to the other side and passes to the next player waiting in line.

Speed Switch - Passing from left to right

Blue 1 starts the exercise by passing from the left wing to blue 2. Blue 2 then passes to blue 3 and so on... Each player must make a forward move prior to receiving the pass, so that they are running when they catch the ball. Blue 5 puts all the balls down. When all balls have been played Blue 5 starts the exercise at his side.

Wing Defence

Player / coach stands in line with the substitution line and feeds the ball to the attacking players (white 3 and white 1). On receiving the pass players must try to wrong foot the wing defender as they engage in a defensive duel.

Players A and B start at the same time. Player A dribbles with his right hand and player B with his left hand.After meeting in the circle, they attack opposite goals. They increase speed after leaving the circle and protect their ball when getting between the two defenders (whose area is only the hoop) and shoot with a center shot or jump shot at the goal. They change positions after the shot.

Two lines on both sides of the court with one return pass player stood further up the court in the middle. Players run with the ball and play a one-two pass with the central player. As they receive the ball again they immediately shoot on goal. After shooting players run to the back of the opposite line to practice throwing from the other side.

Setup as shown, with the player on the far right passing to the player in the middle. The player then crosses with the player on the left who takes a shot at goal. After catching the ball B2 feints as if to go to the right, but changes to the left to cross with B3. B3 first feinst to start to te left, but quickly sprints to the left to cross with B2, catch the ball and throw at the goal. Players swap positions after throwing.

Depending on how many hoops are in front of them players run forward in a 1, 2 or 3 step rhythm and throw at the goal. Players rotate to the right after each shot.
