1 on 1 with entry pass

White 2 gets in space to recieve a pass from White 1Upon receiving ball White 1 has three bounces and five seconds to try to score.Alternate possession between players. The winner is the first to 5. Blue 2 will pass to white 3 when they get open.

Get Open Drill

This is a pass and run to the back of the opposite line drill, with a v-cut movement before the pass. Player 1 starts in the triple threat position whilst 2 makes a v cut. Player 1 then passes the ball to player 2. Player 2 fakes a pass to player 1 who now cuts towards the basket. Player 3 (stood behind player 1) now v-cuts to the front of their line. Player 2 passes the ball to player 3. Player 4 (stood behind player 2) makes a v-cut to the front of their line. Player 3 passes the ball to player 4.

Getting Post Position Footwork...

The offensive player will come from the opposite side of the lane to post up on the block on the ball side of the court. To get around the defensive player the offensive player will lift their arm over and step around the defensive player. Once the offensive player is in front they will have a very wide stance, showing a hand target where they want to receive the basketball.

Defensive open up drill Fitnes...

Get down into a defensive denial position. Open up into a help position then close back up into a denial position. Do the drill for 10 seconds then rest for 10 seconds. Alternate the denial between right and left sides. Do this drill for 2 minutes. The 2-minute duration for these drills includes the rest. 10 seconds on, 10 seconds off for 2 minutes.

white1 and white2 will pass ball to each other 3 or 4 times.<br>blue1 and blue2 will adjust accordingly.<br>red1 and red2 are continually getting open.<br>white1 or white2 will pass to either red1 or red2. Now, it becomes a 2 on 2 game.<br>reds vs blues until reds score or blues get the ball.<Br>Rotation = Offence to defence, defence to passers.

Double Screen Screening - Bask...

This type of screen will be used to get a player open for a shot. The screeners will stand side by side which makes it a wider screen so it is harder for a defender to get around.

Pass, receive and Shoot Shooti...

Players pass the ball to the coach or a feeder just inside the key and run immediately after passing towards the basket. When they are in a prime shooting position they should stop, turn and prepare to recieve a return pass. As soon as the feeder sees the player is ready they should pass to the shooter who then attempts to score.

In pairs one player starts with a ball, with their partner starts opposite them. The player with the ball throws the ball to the cone on either the right or left. The receiving player moves to catch the ball before throwing the ball back to the passer.

Setup players as shown.Player 1 starts with the ball and player 2 makes a run before making a L cut towards him before receiving the pass. On receipt of the pass player 2 then dribbles to the cone before making a jump shot.

Phantom Fundamental Drill (ii)...

Players v-cut their way up and down the court, with their up in front of their chest (ready to catch an imaginary pass). Take 2-3 paces to the right and (cut) change direction and speed, then 2-3 paces to the left etc.<br /><br />In addition to this, when players hear the whistle blow they must stop as quickly as possible. A one count stop is executed. On the second blast of the whistle players can continue to v-cut their way up the court.

Player 1 starts the move by passing the ball to player 2. Just as the first pass is being made player 3 runs diagonally in court in preparation to receive the ball from player 2. Player 2 passes the ball to player 3 who has a shot from the edge of the key. Meanwhile player 1 should have run up court and is positioned ready to receive the rebound if player 3's shot misses.

Player now makes a V cut, imagines the defender is over-playing him and makes a Back Cut or Backdoor Cut. Receives pass and shoots.

Keep ball - 4 vs 1 Passing - B...

Two grids of equal size both with 4 players inside. One team starts with the ball and passes it around inside their area, trying to keep possession. In order to steal the ball and get the ball for their team one player from the other grid is allowed to enter the opposition team's grid and chase down the ball. When they win the ball the player plays an unopposed pass into their grid, follows their pass and then the exercise starts again.

Setup as shown.One player starts out to the left.Player 1 passes to player 3 before making a run towards the basket before cutting back to receive the ball and pivoting to shoot.

1 on 1 Dive Drill Shooting - B...

2 lines on the baseline, with the coach in the middle.The coach will roll the ball down the middle of the court. Both players will run and dive on the ball. The player that gets the ball is on offence and the other player on defence. They will attack the basket from the side they came from. First player to score wins.

After a shot is released move quickly to a re-rounding position and put back with a power move. Remember to open out to get more reach. Go up to the shot from the chin position. Do not take the ball outwards then up. Do twenty of these on each side.

Illonois Lay Ups Shooting - Ba...

This is another drill that can be used for lay-ups or shooting. The players line up in two lines under the basket (one to the left and one to the right). One lane has a ball at the front and the other line has a ball with the second person. The first person (without the ball) curves around to the opposite line to receive a pass and make a lay-up, they then get their own rebound and pass back to the queue from which they received the ball. As soon as the passer has passed, they curve round and get a pass from the other side they take a shot and get their own rebound and pass back to the queue they received it from.

Players play a 4 on 2 passing game within the grid area.When defending wins the ball 2 whites move out of the area and another two move into play a 4 v 2 again.

Player 5 V cuts to the middle of the court Player 1 passes the ball and proceeds to cut to the basket 5 passes to 1, 1 performs a lay up, 5 rebound the ball.

Basketball: Footwork pivoting ...

Blue 1 moves to the middle to receive a pass from red 1, as they catch the ball they must land with either a jump stop or a stride stop. Blue 1 then pivots on the correct foot to face the line they came from. They then pass to the next player in line. Blue 1 then pivots again to face where the pass came from and runs to join the back of that line. The drill is then repeated. Ensure the players catch the ball in the air. Younger and inexperienced players tend to catch the ball then perform a jump/stride stop. The player in the middle must perform a pivot with the ball. If they land with a stride stop they must not move the foot that landed first.

The player at the elbow will go and set a screen on the player along the baseline. Once the screen is set the player receiving the screen will cut up towards the elbow. The screener will roll to the basket.

Rebounding - roll off a block ...

Rolling off a blockout is used to gain a good position for offensive rebounding. The player gets around the defender by turning, pulling around. Player goes back to back with defender then continues to turn taking on long side step around defender so defender left behind. Go up for the rebound. Repeat 10 times on both sides of the board and rolling clockwise and anti clock wise around defender. This practise can be done with a defender or as a shadow drill individually.
