I would like to know few tips for offence workouts?
Hi Santhosh,
Here are some tips for offensive workouts for an 18-year-old basketball team:
Ball handling: Good ball handling is essential for any offensive player. Work on drills that will help your players improve their dribbling and ball control, such as figure-eight dribbling drills, stationary ball handling drills, and full-court dribbling drills.
Shooting: Shooting is a key component of basketball offense. Have your players work on their shooting technique and accuracy with drills such as catch and shoot, off-the-dribble shooting, and shooting off screens.
Footwork: Good footwork can help players create space and get open for shots. Work on drills that improve agility, speed, and quickness, such as ladder drills, cone drills, and jump rope drills.
Passing: Passing is a crucial part of offensive play, and players should work on improving their passing accuracy, speed, and decision-making. Drills like 2-on-1 and 3-on-2 fast break drills, or passing drills that emphasize different types of passes (bounce pass, chest pass, overhead pass), can be effective.
Team Offense: Players should also work on their understanding of team offense, including movement off the ball, setting screens, and passing to open teammates. Have your players practice different offensive sets, such as motion offense or pick-and-roll offense, to improve their ability to work together as a team.
Remember to start with basic drills and gradually increase the difficulty as your players improve. Also, make sure to incorporate both individual and team drills into your workouts.
Hope this helps.
