line out drive
how do you stop a maul from a line out on your own try line to stop them from scoring
Hi Pieter,
A few of my thoughts below:
Drive tight and hard through the middle. This requires good communication as players will be constantly rolling off the side and have to re-join at the back.
If you are not going to challenge for the ball in the lineout then it's important to hit the catcher as soon as he hits the ground. This will disrupt any momentum.
Finally, I would suggest using the touchline as much as possible by pushing slightly from the open side. This is high risk but can expose the ball carrier and get the attacking team in touch.
