kick off drop kicks and height

When drop kicking to start or after a try has been scored, how high roughly should the ball be getting? This is for full senior level rugby.

Hi Henry,

This will depend what tactic you are going for from the restart but ideally you will want the ball to go as high as possible. This gives the chasing players more time to get under it and challenge the opposition.

Hi Henry. It depends on who will be the runner to defend the kicked ball.eg..the runner can be a tall guy with a brilliant speed...just a thought.
