My club is recruiting for a new Head Coach. We will be getting them to run a one hour session with the team but on what topic? We are an amateur adult club. Any advice or ready made plans welcome.
Hi Martin,
Sounds exciting about your new head coach! I would say that you want to give the coach the most opportunity to show him what he can do. Therefore, small drills where he can work closely with the players will give you a great idea of how he can communicate with the players and what knowledge he has.
Then maybe finish off with a conditioned game so he can give you an idea of how he would like the team to play in terms of tactics and different plays.
Maybe get him to bring some ideas of his own too so he can show how he likes to structure his sessions!
Best of luck!
