Im starting as headcoach for the first time. im looking for templates and or advice on how to make a gameplan. any advice is welcome. Kind regards, Jasper
Hi Jasper,
To come up with a gameplan, I think you need to assess the players in your team and work out where your strengths are and then come up with a game plan which works towards those strengths. For example, you might have a really strong forward pack and therefore you might want to keep the ball amongst the forwards as much as possible. A gameplan will also be dependent on the conditions and opposition so be prepared to adapt during the game.

Thanx Tom,
I have set up a plan based on speed. i coach a student team that is young and "small" compared to the other teams in the competition. We are trying to spread our contact moments wide on their side of the pitch. Quick rucks, long passes and kick chases to get out of our own half. before corona hit we where 2 from 3. 9 points, 4th in the comp. only because we where fitter, quicker and consistent.
thanks for your reply.
