Are there any off-season and pre-season conditioning?

Many of our players workout but not necessarily rugby specific programs that address position requirements and skills. I'd like to have a set of bench marks and standardized training program for our team that we can also use to inspire competition among each other.

look at the running distances and length of runs each position will do in a game ie props probably 5 or 10 yd bursts at full sprint with the ball in hand short rests befor eneeding explosive power again and a lot of running at a lower tempo to get into position to hit rucks/mauls whilst wingers will do longer sprints but with longer rest periods so build up sessions looking at position by position so all can be working on their sprint work BUT specific to their position and the individuals will feel the benefit of it maybe not exactly what you want but hope this helps Jamieson Shearer
