• This is a touch game
• Split the playing area into two with a distinct centre line
• A team of players on each line ball with the team standing on the centre line
• Team kicks to either of the other teams and presses up to defend the space.
• Attacking team works to reach the centre line with as efficiently/quickly as possible – if dropped considered a defensive success but the attacking team still progresses to the centre line. Defenders move to the line directly in front and wait for their next turn
• Attackers then transition to defence by kicking to the team waiting ahead of them.
• Process repeats
Waves of attack – Compressed space
• 4x attacking players with the ball
• 4x defenders first line, 1x second line defender
• Attacking player with the ball looks to identify a space between defence and then commit a defender and offload to supporting teammate.
• As soon as attackers have passed the front line, the second line defender presses up to add pressure.
• Attacker with the ball looks to offload either left or right.
• Concentrate on fast feet to commit defenders, clear communication and accurate offloads/passing.
• Players simply turn and repeat/defence adjusts accordingly.
